CITY NATURE CHALLENGE

Branding design and marketing campaign for an annual event called City Nature Challenge hosted by the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County. City Nature Challenge invites countries from all over the globe to collect images and videos of local wildlife in all urban and wild landscapes. The result is a grass roots encyclopedic collection of natural life that can be found all over the world, which can be accessed by scientists, nature enthusiasts, or anyone that wants to learn about the creatures that can be found in their own backyards and beyond.

The event is branded through the creation of a style guide featuring a modular icon and logotype that is translated into any language for use by participants to promote their own activations all across the globe. The logo was adapted for use in various digital media impressions by a wide range of collaborating organizations large and small. The key art used in all official marketing materials reflect the excitement, wonder, and curiosity that this event seeks to inspire. Accompanying all the promotional materials is the website which serves as the hub for the audience to look through all the collected data as well as articles and other educational resources created as a result of the multi media, cross cultural, and international collaboration.
